At Mama’s Home, every dish is created with intention—and every flavor tells a story.
Rooted in my Virginia upbringing, Carolina connections, Louisiana influences, and experiences living across the country, my cooking reflects a blend of Southern comfort, Creole soul, Cajun flavor, and culinary traditions whose roots reach across West and Central Africa, the Caribbean, and the American South.
The inspiration for Mama’s Home came from my children, who encouraged me to share my home-cooked meals beyond our family table. Their belief in me, along with the legacy of my mother, grandmother, and the generations of women who came before me, inspired me to turn my love of cooking into something greater—a way to serve others through food.
A New Chapter for Mama’s Home
As Mama’s Home has grown, so has my understanding of where I can make the greatest difference.Today, the heart of Mama’s Home is recurring personal chef service for families, veterans, and seniors throughout the Charlotte area. My goal is simple: to bring the comfort of home-cooked meals back into the home while giving my clients more time, greater convenience, and one less thing to worry about.For busy families, that can mean coming home to meals already prepared for the week. For veterans, it can mean dependable, personalized meal support from someone who genuinely appreciates their service. For seniors, it can mean continuing to enjoy familiar, home-cooked meals while maintaining comfort and independence at home.This isn't mass-produced meal delivery. It's personal. I come into my clients' homes, learn what they enjoy, and prepare meals with the same care and attention that inspired Mama’s Home in the first place.For life's special moments, Mama’s Home also offers a limited number of premium private chef experiences and lite catering services for intimate gatherings of up to 20 guests. These services are reserved for occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, intimate celebrations, and other special gatherings and are available by consultation.
But the Vision Extends Beyond the Table
Through Mama’s Home CARES, the mission of serving others reaches beyond my personal chef services and into the community.
One of the signature initiatives of Mama’s Home CARES is The DOT House, inspired by the legacy of my mother, Dorothy—affectionately known as “DOT.” Currently in its founding phase, The DOT House is being developed with a vision of providing hope, housing, and supportive services for women experiencing homelessness and major life transitions.
For me, these aren't separate missions.
Food. Home. Family. Dignity. Community.
They are all connected.
What began as Sunday dinners in my Charlotte kitchen has grown into something much bigger—a business and a mission rooted in love, legacy, service, and connection.
I believe there is a real need to bring love back into our homes, strengthen our communities, and care for people in ways that remind them they matter.
Sometimes that begins with something as simple as a home-cooked meal.
