    Mama's Home Journey

    Inspired by Family

    Mama’s Home is more than a food brand—it’s a soulful experience rooted in love, tradition, and family. Born from the heart of Monique Hughes, a proud mom and passionate home cook, Mama’s Home blends Southern comfort, Creole soul, and a touch of creative flair into every dish. It’s where buttery biscuits, banana pudding cupcakes, jambalaya, and “Marry Me” salmon live side-by-side with loaded chili, soulful soups, and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.


    The idea for Mama’s Home came from Monique’s own children, who encouraged her to share her delicious, comforting meals with the world. Inspired by generations of women in her family—her mother, grandmother, and aunts—who cooked with love, healing hands, and a lot of soul, Monique began developing a cookbook and brand that would honor their legacy while serving up joy one plate at a time.


    What started as Sunday dinners and comfort food from her Charlotte, NC kitchen has now grown into a full vision— I will be starting with pop-ups and by 2026 -- evolving into a full food truck, with catering and even a community outreach arm called Mama’s Home Cares. Whether you’re tasting her creamy Cajun ranch or biting into her famous salmon, every bite says: Welcome home.

    A flavorful, slow-simmered chili crafted with seasoned ground beef, smoked sausage, robust red beans, bell peppers, and a medley of bold Southern spices. Finished with a topping of shredded cheese and green onions, accompanied by a warm cornbread wedge. It’s a comforting, hearty dish imbued with that unmistakable Mama’s touch.

    Jazzy Jambalaya Bowl

    A bold and soulful dish that delivers on every level—this Creole-inspired creation features sautéed shrimp, smoked beef sausage, tender chicken, and a vibrant mix of red peppers, green peppers, and red onions. All combined in a rich, creamy Cajun sauce served over your choice of rotini or fettuccine noodles. Finished with a sprinkle of Parmesan and a touch of heat, it’s a celebration in a bowl—each bite bursts with flavor, rhythm, and soul.

    Mama’s Gravy Train

    Two tender, juicy chicken thighs slow simmered in a rich, peppery onion gravy, served over creamy mashed potatoes that soak up every drop of goodness. Finished with a sprinkle of herbs and love, this plate is the definition of down-home comfort. Served sweet cornbread muffin. 

    Sweet Like Mama’s Love

    These desserts are rich with flavor, full of soul, and kissed with Southern comfort. From cool, creamy banana pudding to warm cobbler and buttery bread pudding, each bite brings a little joy, a little nostalgia, and a whole lotta love—just like Mama used to serve after supper.

    Banana Pudding Cupcakes

     Your favorite Southern dessert—now in cupcake form! These soft vanilla cupcakes are filled with silky banana cream, topped with whipped pudding frosting, and finished with a vanilla wafer crunch. Available as a single treat ($4), a 2-pack for sharing ($7), a 4-pack for gifting ($14), or a 6-pack for the true dessert lover ($20). However, you slice it (or bite it!), this one's sweet like Mama's love. 

    Sweet Potato Pie Parfait Cup

     All the comfort of sweet potato pie—layered with buttery graham crumbs, spiced sweet potato filling, and whipped cream. Finished with toasted pecans and a hint of caramel. Southern sweetness in every spoonful. 

    Peach Swirl Bread Pudding

    $5 - $10

    Buttery bread pudding swirled with juicy peaches, warm cinnamon, and a touch of brown sugar. Finished with a golden crust and a drizzle of glaze or caramel.

    Grab a Personal Cup ($5) for a sweet solo moment or a Mini Loaf ($10) to share—or not. Pure comfort in every bite.

    Apple Cinnamon Muffins

     Soft, spiced muffins bursting with tender apple chunks and warm cinnamon flavor. Lightly sweet with a hint of brown sugar and a golden, bakery-style top.  Available as a Personal Muffin ($4) or a Mini Loaf ($8) when you need a little more cozy in your day.
