Mama's Home Journey

Inspired by Family

Mama’s Home is more than a food brand—it’s a soulful experience rooted in love, tradition, and family. Born from the heart of Monique Hughes, a proud mom and passionate home cook, Mama’s Home blends Southern comfort, Creole soul, and a touch of creative flair into every dish. It’s where buttery biscuits, banana pudding cupcakes, jambalaya, and “Marry Me” salmon live side-by-side with loaded chili, soulful soups, and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.


The idea for Mama’s Home came from Monique’s own children, who encouraged her to share her delicious, comforting meals with the world. Inspired by generations of women in her family—her mother, grandmother, and aunts—who cooked with love, healing hands, and a lot of soul, Monique began developing a cookbook and brand that would honor their legacy while serving up joy one plate at a time.


What started as Sunday dinners and comfort food from her Charlotte, NC kitchen has now grown into a full vision— I will be starting with pop-ups and by 2026 -- evolving into a full food truck, with catering and even a community outreach arm called Mama’s Home Cares. Whether you’re tasting her creamy Cajun ranch or biting into her famous salmon, every bite says: Welcome home.
